Ok, I’ve spent several weeks planning and scripting this so take it easy on me. ![]()
I just converted the old Download Manager over to a different version that is put out by Invision. I did a mass database conversion and with over 3,000 records, odds are VERY HIGH that some peoples resources got dorked up. Please take a moment and check out your resources. Post here with problems found. I still have the old DM with all its resources in place so if we find something significant I can quickly swap back.
I can also add new fields with this version so I’ll be adding fields like Custom Panel, and X-Plane Version to the Aircraft categories. Without going too nuts if there are other fields you would like to see added put that here too.
The # of downloads for each category is going to show 0 until something is downloaded from that category. Afterwards, it will adjust to the correct number of downloads.
Lastly, comments. They all got dumped with the move. It was too complex to convert them and I figured the limited amount of usefulness from them just didn’t make it worth the effort. ![]()
I’ll also be adjusting the skin and adding the sponsor ads back in soon.

HobbyTron.com on FOX 13?s Good Day Utah
On Thursday, August 16, 2007 HobbyTron.com was highlighted on the FOX 13 News program Good Day Utah. We were up at the ModelPort just east of the Salt Lake City International Airport. The ModelPort is a place that people can go to fly their model airplanes and helicopters. We were accompanied by about 30 other hobby airplane enthusiasts.
All of the planes that they flew were ranging from a few hundred dollars, to $10,000 with the average around a thousand dollars or so.Most people who have had a fascination with flying aren’t able to jump in at that level so that is where we come in. HobbyTron.com is the affordable option for the beginning to intermediate hobby enthusiast. Our planes and helicopters begin at the $20 range and go up to the $200-$300 range. We talked about the many indoor options that we have for the home or office.
Some of the aircraft that we highlighted on the air were as follows: The Palm Z, The Rookie, and The Hughes Mini Helicopter. The Palm Z is the hottest new toy for the holiday season this year. It is an indoor plane that will fly for over 5 minutes. It is slow moving, nearly unbreakable, and has the ability to maneuver around the office or the crowded living room. The Rookie is a long time favorite for its superb stability and ability to fly in small tight places. It will fly outside, but remember as with all indoor aircraft, they will not fly as well outside, especially if there is any wind. As you could see on the video from the news show which we will be putting up as soon as we are sent our copy. The Hughes Mini Helicopter is always a favorite because it is so durable and you can fly up to three at a time (Just as you can with the Palm Z).
We also had three other planes on display that were a little higher end. They are as follows: The Cessna 182, The Hybrid Air, and The Daredevil. If you were watching the news, the Cessna was the airplane that was wrecked twice while on the air, and then it still flew!!! It is one of our most popular options as you can choose between a 3CH and 4CH option depending on your skill level. The Hybrid Air actually takes off from water, and the Daredevil is our stunt bi-plane. These are both 4CH planes and come in at a very modest price tag.
If you have any questions about our products please feel free to visit us. We will be posting pictures and video from the news event as soon as they are available.

Why Can’t I Fly The Cessna?
Hi friends. I am having a problem I am hoping someone can help me with.
I am brand new to X-plane and no nothing about flying at all. I have read the instruction manual, and although it is confusing, (flaps? drag? stall? ENGLISH PLEASE!!!), I am slowly getting the hang of a few things.
Currently I am having the most success flying the larger, commercial airplanes, but according to sources I have read, I should really learn how to fly the smaller aircraft as they are more challenging, (i.e. they don’t fly themselves).
I have been studying one particular article (http://stoenworks.com/How%20to%20Fly%20Flight%20Sims.html), that has a step by step guide to getting the cessna in the air.
Here is my problem. With the Cessna, (and the Cessna ONLY), when I release the brakes on the runway and apply the throttle it IMMEDIATELY starts turning hard left. No amount of joystick control can center the steering. I turn hard left and the plane flips over amist several blinking lights and beeps from the control panel.
What am I doing wrong!?
