Freddy Südhoff takes European 1/10th ‘B’ title
Following qualifying on Friday and Saturday for this year’s European 1/10th scale ‘B’ Championship in Austria, Sunday say the main finals get underway to decide who would claim the 2009 title. At the start of the 45 minute final Gerhard Kandelhart and Freddy Südhoff got off to a clean start and started to make gap on the rest of the field, also having the advantage of only needing to refuel every 6:45. Around the 13 minute mark Freddy managed to get passed Kandi to take the lead and began to pull a gap and at this time the leading pair had a lap advantage on the rest of the field. Later in the race Rico Kröber, who was in 3rd, started to decrease the gap to Kandi and managed to unlap himself to get back on the lead lap and following some quick laps he managed to catch Kandi again once more, this time for position with 3 laps to go. Going into the fast sweeper, the pair touched and Kandi went off and flamed out, something which would lose him the podium position, dropping to 4th by the time he restarted. This incident moved Daan Jacobs up to 3rd behind Kröber in 2nd, with Freddy Südhoff clear up front to take the European title.

North German EP Off-Road Regional Rd1
The season opener of the Northern German electric off-road regional races took place at the MAC Burgdorf near Hannover. The semi-permanent grass track was once again very well prepared for the near 40 attendees. The weather was fine all weekend but just in time for the finals on Sunday afternoon everything changed to the worst and heavy thunderstorms caused an early end after the first round of finals. Only the 4WD Modified and 2WD Stock class were able to run a second round, the remainder of the finals were swapped away by heavy rain.Young René Sagawe (AE) dominated the 2WD Stock finals followed by Sven Jacobi (AE) and Pascal Sturm (AE) who came in third. 4WD Stock was won by Eberhard Beck (Team Durango) in front of Tom Bujara and Ursus Lieder (Yokomo). 2WD Modified was dominated by Mirco Johne (X Factory) who won over Marcel Felzmann (LOSI) and Red RC’s Sebastian Sürstedt (X Factory).
The 4WD Modified class suffered from the heavy thunderstorm at the start of the first A final. Only five drivers made the full seven minute race as no one was prepared for a wet race. At the end it was Tim Benson (Hot Bodies) who won over Sascha Mohr (Hot Bodies) and Marco Heinrich (Hot Bodies). On one of the first outings Eberhard Beck won the 4WD Stock class with a pre-production prototype of the Team Durango DEX410 4WD buggy. Rumours have it that the DEX410 should be in the stores by the end of May or the beginning of June. Red RC’s Sebastian Sürstedt attended with two recently reviewed buggies: Schumacher’s CAT SX and X Factory’s X-6 Squared and ended up 7th and 3rd respectively in the A finals. The review CAT SX was equipped with CS Electronic’s new Rocket Competition ESC, CS Magnetic motor and the all-new CS 5200 40C LiPo and ran flawless the whole weekend.
