RC Prototypes in the News
A Better Way to Climb the Walls: I’ve written before about anti-gravity cars (specifically the Air Hogs Zero Gravity R/C cars). Cute novelty RCs but not near so cool as the prototype car in this MajicWheels video. Check out the way it can go from vertical to horizontal, flip over, and hang by two wheels. Sticky wheels?
According to MajiiWheels, Inc., as reported in The OTC Investor, a “major worldwide distributor of toys” is interested in helping to bring their products to a toy retailer near you. If the real thing works as well as the prototype in the video, I want one. (Majii Wheels Website).
Fly Like a Maple Leaf: In more prototype news, here’s a $500 radio controlled monocopter from a University of Maryland student. I’m guessing the price will come down before it hits store shelves: The Army helped with funding with the idea that these monocopters — modeled after the “flight” of maple leaf seedlings — could be put to use for some kind of surveillance. A backup plan in case their radio controlled beetles meet up with a flyswatter, maybe?
