Award Ceremony at West Nitro Brunch
In a ceremonious environment 38 impressive trophies were presented to the best of the 2009 NRW Challenge and the 2009 Western German Championship. Around 60 rc drivers, wives and girlfriends attended the “West Nitro Brunch” held at Oberhausen last Sunday. It has been the first time that such a prize giving ceremony was held for both on road categories 1/8 and 1/10 in Western Germany. Finally, this award has been an astonishing success. The atmosphere was excellent with lots of exciting “nitro talks” and consequently all participants have asked to repeat the “West Nitro Brunch” again in 2010.
The main focus was on the award for the NRW Challlenge (NRW = German state North Rhine Westphalia), a new series of three races held at Dueren, Oberhausen and Bad Breisig. A total of 72 racers entered these three events which where characterized by extensive racing time with finales up to 45 minutes. The top 10 of each class and those who attended a minimum of two races out of three received an awe-inspiring cup. The huge and golden trophies were handed over by Heinz Kroezemann and Uwe Baldes, the two men behind this championship, as well as Josef Holl and Horst Glowatzky, both outstanding personalities with long-time and essential dedication for rc racing in Western Germany.

Furthermore the top 3 of the four categories of the Western German Championship have been awarded with silver cups, donated by the German federation DMC and handed over by Heinz Kroezemann, chairman of DMC district West, and Nicole Boers, section manager 1/8 and 1/10.
Onroad 1/8 class 1 (6 races, 17 competitors): 1. Tobias Hepp 780 points, 2. Frank Schewiola 753, 3. Steven Cuypers 728.
Onroad 1/8 class 2 (6 races, 26 competitors): 1. Dirk Drechsler 780 points, 2. Jean-Pierre Roenicke 725, 3. Ralf Wacker 697.
Onroad 1/10 200mm (5 races, 52 competitors): 1. Sebastian Buerge 580 points, 2. Bernd Rausch 561, 3. Rene Puepke 555.
Onroad 1/10 standart (3 races, 12 competitors): 1. Sascha Schmitt 547 points, 2. Marco Nenner 400, 3. Marcus Schumacher 363.
Following the prize giving the opulent brunch was interrupted by two sessions of an entertaining raffle with lots of valuable items contributed by 2-speed (Serpent, Xceed), Hoeco (Protoform), Kyosho / Team Orion, MID (Mugen), Shepherd Micro Racing (Novarossi), Toni-Sport (Eastcoast bodies) and Zick RC-Racing.

Motonica 18T Clutch pinion gear
Italian company Motonica have announced the release of this new 18T clutch pinion. This precision part has been machined from Ergal 7075 and is an optional second gear for the 1/8th scale P81 chassis. This pinion is also compatible with the clutch bell on the P8C and P8F series.
