Xray Column - National Heroes

The 36th installment in the Xray column from Xray owner and chief designer Juraj Hudy is now online. In this months column, Juraj talks about the company’s successes on Regional and National levell.

Being away at races, test sessions, or warm-up preparations, nearly every weekend is spent away at some event. The racing though is not only about the Worlds, Euros, or International races — those are really just the tip of the iceberg — but there are also hundreds of other races going on every week… club, local, and regional races and of course the numerous national race series in every category in all countries around the world. The XRAY national and regional teams around the world have been well known for their very active work and racing during the whole season, and we do our best to publish all the latest news on our Web site. I closely monitor all race reports coming from around the world and I am always very happy and proud for every single XRAY victory no matter where it comes from.

The final race of the Revelation Racing Series took place over the weekend of November 21 & 22 at Revelation Raceway in Montclair, CA. This month’s event is the Kyosho Fall Classic and Ryan Cavalieri quickly ascended to the top spot in the Expert Truggy “A” main from his 2nd qualifying position. Clearly the class of the field, Cavalieri and his RC8T CE checked out from the competition and easily cruised to the victory.

Cavalieri also lead a 1-2-3 Associated/LRP qualifying effort in the growing electric 1/8th buggy class. Early pressure from second qualifier Brent Thielke kept Cavalieri honest, but steady laps from Cavalieri saw him be the only driver to make the 12th lap as Thielke just got caught at the line.

Cavalieri wins Kyosho Fall Classic

Next weekend Revelation Raceway hosts the Inaugural ROAR 1/8th Electric Championships, so many drivers used the Fall Classic as a warm-up event. The event promises to be a unique showcase of strategy, discipline and reliability for the fledgling electric 1/8th electric vehicles and systems. Byron Gen2 Race Fuel

IFMAR have announced that following a vote by their member blocs, that Byron 16% will be the official fuel of the 2010 IFMAR 1/10th scale 200mm World Championships in Houston, Texas. Along with Byron Fuel, Maxy’s was also up for consideration with the four member blocs giving 2 votes a piece for each brand. As per the rules, the decision fell to the IFMAR officials to make the casting vote and Byron was chosen.

Dear Sport friend,

With reference to the letter send out last Tuesday regarding the fuel-bid, we have received back all the votes from the 4 blocs within 48 hours.

The result of the fuel-bid is 2-2.
2 Votes for Byron and 2 votes for Maxy’s.

According to IFMAR Constitution:
”18. Proceedings of the Executive.
(1) The Executive may meet together for the dispatch of business, adjourned and otherwise regulate their meetings as they think fit. Three individual members shall be a quorum. Questions arising at any meeting shall be decided by a majority of votes. In the case of an equality of votes the President shall have a second or casting vote”.

In this equality of votes situation the IFMAR IC Section Chairman is the responsible and must exercice the casting vote.

IFMAR, in this case the IFMAR IC Executive, has to make a decision, so the IFMAR IC Section Chairman, after consultation with the IFMAR President votes for the Byron fuel as it has been proposed as first preference by the organizer.

Byron 16% will be the controlled fuel for the 2010 IFMAR 200mm IC Touring Car World Championship.

Best regards

On behalf of IFMAR
Sander de Graaf
IFMAR IC Section Chairman.
